Is your Pinterest strategy account helping to drive traffic, leads and clients? If not, then I’ve got a simple strategy that will help you!

Pinterest should definitely be on your radar as part of your social media strategy. Why? Because what most content creators don’t understand is that Pinterest is a search engine and people are over there searching for answers, just like YouTube!

With so many people focusing on the popular stuff right now like Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook so Pinterest is an opportunity for you to show up get noticed and drive more traffic to your website!

The problem is that most content creators don’t even know where to begin with there Pinterest Strategy or may even have a Pinterest account that is set and floundering.

5 Simple Tips to Create and Implement a Pinterest Strategy That Works

Tip #1: Create Content That is Easily Repurposable.

So what do I mean by creating repurposable content? It’s as simple as creating a short video that can be republished and turned into other forms of content.

Here’s what I recommend and teach inside of my 12x Content Creation Method Program:

Create a simple script

Film and post it on YouTube, your blog

Repurpose it into a Podcast

Tip #2: Add Your Content Into Pinterest:

Each piece of your content that you created can and should be added into Pinterest as part of your Pinterest strategy. The fact is that some people want to watch a video, some want to listen to a podcast and some want to read a blog post.

Here’s the Pinterest Strategy For Your Content:

Upload your videos directly to Pinterest

Create a Pin for your Blog Post

Create a Pin with Your Podcast Sound Bite

Create a Pin with Your Podcast Episode Information

The best tool by far to make automating your Pinterest Content easy is Tailwind. And I use Canva to create all of my images for Pinterest.

Tip #3: You Need a Pinterest Strategy For Your Account

Before you start, you need to put thought and time into developing your Pinterest strategy for your account.

Here Are The Steps To Follow:

Create a board strategy that is organized into areas of content that is relevant to your business

Look at how you have organized your content on your blog as a starting spot

Keep it simple by narrowing your boards into the most important categories

Having a your strategy for your boards will help to keep you focused as you add content.

Tip #4: Do’s And Don’t For Your Pinterest Strategy:

Take time to build your account thoughtfully and over time.

Don’t immediately add a ton of pins to your boards as soon as you set up your account. Your followers may get annoyed if you flood their pins with only your content. Making this mistake may cause your followers to “unfollow” you.

Keep your total pins to a maximum of 30-35 per day and spread them out. Who wants to log into their account only to see your pins and nothing else?

Do not make the mistake of using Pinterest only to promote your business.

Instead, you should create a board strategy that is a mix of your content categories and with your own offers.

Focus on adding value and solutions to their pressing issues, and answer their questions.

If you are already creating content that is focused on what you audience wants from you then you are good to go!

Do select images that are high quality and inspiring to your audience.

Just like Facebook, Pinterest is very visual. Make sure you select images that are appealing and sharable. Doing this correctly will result in driving traffic.

Here are a couple of tips to help you:

Make sure your photos are taller than they are wide. Statistics show that images that are taller are easier to read. Photos that are taller and have more content get more pins than shorter ones with less content.

Keep your descriptions short. Studies show that if you apply the character count of 140 to your descriptions, you will get more pins.

Experiment by adding video content to your boards.

You can read more about The Science of the Perfect Pinterest Post here.

Do include engagement as part of your Pinterest strategy.

Engagement is critical if you want to grow a thriving Pinterest community for your business. It is important that you engage and network with other people.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

Set aside time each week to re-pin and like images on Pinterest or if you have Tailwind you can automate this for you!

Follow other people and brands in your niche as a way to develop those relationships.

Take advantage of Tailwind Communities to grow your influence and get more traffic as part of your Pinterest Strategy. This alone has really helped me build my account and get more traffic.

Your next step to creating a Pinterest Strategy that gets you more traffic, leads, and paying customers should be to create the right content that your audience is asking for.

Do you want to make stunning videos even though you know you aren’t a tech wiz?

Let me help take the tech scaries away…In this video, I show you three simple steps that you can use right away that will help you instantly make better videos that your audience will love!

If you aren’t creating video as part of your content creation strategy, here are a few statistics that will get you excited about creating video content.

According to Hubspot’s state of video marketing survey, 96% of the respondents said that they plan to increase the number of videos used in their marketing.

And 69% of people who are not using video in their marketing plan on starting. Also, they found that the pandemic caused people to watch more videos than ever before.

If these numbers don’t get you excited about creating video content then you’re missing out on a big trend that isn’t going away any time soon!

For those of you who are interested in getting started with video, I want to share tips to help you create stunning videos without being a tech whiz.

👉 Here’s a peek at what I’ll be covering:

Tip #1: How to leverage your best content and turn it into video.

Tip #2: How to find the right location and equipment that won’t cost you a bundle.

Tip #3: How to edit your videos… and you don’t have to be a tech whiz to make them look good!

Then when I’m done, I’ll answer two questions:

Question #1: How do I find my most popular content and leverage it into other forms of content for more visibility?

Question #2: What is the number one thing I can do that will instantly improve my videos?

I have a secret I want to share with you…

A few weeks ago I hit a wall and I felt like giving up and walking away from everything. Have you ever hit that wall too? I started thinking about this and I found out that this happens to most everyone else too. In my mastermind group everyone shared that they too have been in the same boat at one time or another as well. And I started noticing that others who are wildly successful have also hit this same wall at one time or another.

At the time it made me feel better but I was still searching for how to help myself get through this uncomfortable period. And yes it was uncomfortable!

The good news was that I did get through this uncomfortableness AND it taught me a valuable lesson. Or maybe I should say it reminded me once again of a lesson that I had been taught before and that is that oftentimes before a breakthrough there is a breakdown. Ah yes the nasty breakdown before a breakthrough lesson, I’ve been through it before in my life many times before and even more difficult situations and have been able to get myself through it.

And I suspect that this won’t be the last time I have a breakdown either, it’s just a part of life. And if you can look at your breakdowns as just one of those things in life that happens that is a step in the right direction.

Here’s a some simple steps to follow when you feel like giving up:

1. Be aware of your feelings

Sometimes it may hit you in the head with a full on breakdown or you may have a mild case of feeling unmotivated. That’s okay, I’m sure if you took a poll everyone who answered truthfully would say yes that they have either felt like giving up or unmotivated at one time or another.

The thing you need to understand is that building and running a business isn’t always an easy job. Too many people talk about becoming an overnight success and that doing this or that is easy and the plain truth is that from time to time it isn’t always easy.

I work with a lot of people who have built successful businesses and I have witnessed them going through the same struggle too. Take a deep breath and know that you aren’t alone and it will be okay.

Being aware of your feeling is the first step to getting through this.

2. Take a break

This isn’t the time to take massive action and most likely you won’t be feeling like it either!

It’s a good time to take a break and really process what is going on with you. Stopping, feeling and processing your feelings is the best way to get through this. Just stuffing them away and pushing through isn’t a good idea because when you do the universe often has a way putting them right back in front of you until you are forced to work through them again.

So take some time to sit down, start thinking and writing down your feelings.

3. Identify your feelings and stay with them

The best way to get though this now that you have given yourself permission to take a break is to just be.

Yes, just be right where you are as uncomfortable as it may sound and as much as you might not want to, this is key to getting through this yucky place. I know, I’ve was right there myself a few weeks ago. And from experience when I don’t take a break and just be with these feelings it will be that much harder to get through this as they will keep rearing their ugly head until I embrace them fully.

When you find yourself here, take comfort in knowing that it’s like climbing a mountain or a hill and that you will understand it when you get to the other side. This has really helped me get through some difficult times in my life when I tell myself that whatever I need to learn will be revealed when I get to the other side and I will be okay.

And know you aren’t alone, everyone else has taken this journey at one time or another. Just listen to people’s stories, everyone at one time or another has struggled too.

4. Grab a journal and start writing.

This is a powerful way to process your feelings about what is going on. Even more powerful than calling several friends and talking. I did this myself when I was going through a difficult time and my journal about my journey has been a great resource for me because I can read it and know that I am a strong person and I can get through this.

Look at this as an opportunity to become stronger, better at what you’re doing. I find that reminding myself of this really helps.

5. Start focusing on your accomplishments

The feelings you may be experiencing are only temporary and making a list of your accomplishments is a great way to show yourself how far you have come. This will go a long way to getting your mindset into a better place.

I personally like to think about all of the people who I have helped build their businesses so that they can in turn help other people. Yes when you look at it that way, what you do is a pretty big deal.

And wouldn’t it be a shame if you walked away from what you’re doing?

So next time when you feel like giving up, take a breath and know that you’re not alone. Know that this too shall pass and that many others have been, and will be right where you are.

Look at this as an opportunity to take a break and really take a deeper look at what you’re feeling and start looking at your accomplishments. I’ll bet that there are many things that you can be proud of.

When you feel like giving up, don’t throw in the towel and walk away. There’s too much at stake, there are so many people who need what you are offering.

Instead, look at your expectations and maybe they need to be shifted a bit. In general we all put too much emphasis on being happy when we achieve our future goals.

Make a decision to be happy today.

Influence marketing is all about using influencers in a your niche to get more people interested in you and your message. And the bonus of using this strategy is that you’ll build your Twitter following at the same time!

When an influencer makes a comment, shares something, takes a stand or endorses a product, service or company of yours, then the followers of the influencer are likely to go and see what you are all about.

An influencer is anyone who has a strong following in his or her domain and is an authority. For example, Brendon Burchard is an influencer for anyone wanting to build a coaching business while a pop star may be an influencer for a wide variety of products.

How to drive traffic with Twitter influencers.

1. Find influencers in your niche

You need to find a someone who is respected in your niche. Go with people who have a worthwhile following on the site and can have an impression on the followers or on Twitter in general. Or use a tool like Buzzsumo.com to see who the influencers are in your niche

2. Make a list of influencers

This is a great list to have and you should be aiming to connect with these influencers. You want to connect with anyone who can make a difference to your marketing campaign. You should get industry leaders, customers who have a considerable following, reviewers or experts who are respected by the consumers and people who have a general influence on people.

3. Engage with your influencers.

Start following them

Re-tweet them

Mention them when sharing posts or when posting your own content

Tweet or re-tweet their blogs and opinion posts,

Favorite their tweets and engage with their audience,

Comment on their blog posts and engage with other commenters there on a regular basis

Write content about them if relevant and share on twitter. This is a favorite of mine!

You just want to politely get the attention of the influencers by either asking directly or by making relevant approaches, posts and comments online. If you approach people with with giving rather than getting in mind, you will be pleasantly surprised at the response you will get.

I suggest that you work on getting the attention of lower level influencers, you have more of an opportunity to get a response from them. I also suggest that you be authentic in sharing their content and don’t act too pushy. That is always a turn off!

Wrapping it all up… it pays to stay consistent

When you are consistent and drive traffic with twitter influencers you’ll begin to see results with this strategies, you will start to get more attention and exposure from your twitter profile. I find that once you get to about 2000 followers the magic begins. More people follow you especially if you adhere to a daily twitter engagement plan where you are on your account engaging with people authentically.

Combining this with continually circulating great content from your website will get you noticed and more traffic back to your site. I’d love to know how many influencers you’re connecting with as a regular part of your social media, traffic & networking plan – leave me a comment and let me know!

Want to sell more services & products on auto pilot?

How well should my home page be converting visitors to my list? I hear this question all the time Optimally your home page should be converting between 10 and 20% of your visitors on your list. Unfortunately most home pages don’t even convert 1% of traffic. Getting traffic to your home page is easy and getting people to your list is hard unless you know what to do. In this article I’m going to show you what you need to have in place so raise your conversion rates and build your list faster. Here’s what you need to consider when building a home page that converts more traffic to your list:

1. First Impressions make a difference.

Are you capturing their attention with the right words, colors and call to action? You have only 3 to 7 seconds to capture their initial attention or they’ll be gone and you’ve lost an opportunity to capture a lead and hopefully make a difference. You want to design your home page that it gets noticed, and structure it so that they understand in that first 3-7 seconds what you do and they are compelled to stay on your page to learn more.

2. Too much stuff = confusion

You want to keep your page un cluttered and don’t give your visitors too many options. So take the time to think through and identify the outcome for this page. Do you want them to opt into your list? Do you want them to sign up for a consultation? Do you want them to read more about what you do? Resist the temptation to add too much to this page. To many calls to action and too many moving parts will distract visitors and will cause them to do nothing.

3. Add a video to your home page that sells your opt-in

Especially if this is the what you have identified as your main outcome for this page. Adding a video of you speaking really helps to improve your conversion rate because it gives people a deeper sense of who you are and what you do on a more personal level.

If your homepage isn’t doing its job to help build your business and making you money, then something’s wrong.

Join me on April 30th at 12:00pm PT for a free webinar where I’ll show you how to build a home page that converts. Watch the video below to find out more and register

Relevant content equals a better the open rate, and ultimately a greater impact you can make on your audience.Outside of your email list, you have much less control over how your content is distributed. Social media platforms set the rules that you are required to play by and if they decide your content isn’t up to snuff, they can suspend your account. In the case of Facebook with its continually changing terms of service, they can impact your ability to interact with your audience at a moment’s notice.

Or how about Twitter and its 140 character or less rule? That’s how they control your ability to communicate with your audience.

The great thing about email, you get to decide how you want to communicate with your audience:

Email allows you to connect 1:1 with a specific person or a group of people with similiar interestes.

Yes, you have to work harder to get someone on your list vs a social media connection, but it is worth it because when someone subscribes to you list they are telling you directly that they are interested in what you have to say.

If you can get the newly subscribed person to make a purchase early on, that is an added bonus because as soon money changes hands you have a higher likelyhood of making a second or even third sale.

It’s hard to get comments and feedback on social media. Lots of people are reluctant to make public comments and email gives them an opportunity to ask questions or start a discussion.

Three Things That Should be on Your Marketing To-Do List:

Blogging for content creation and sharing your knowledge

Social media for creating interest, connections, and awareness.

Email for the follow-up, building deeper relationships and turning fans into customers.

Build Your Email List Early On

Here’s Why:

Email gives you an opportunity to build the know like and trust factor which is essential to turning fans into customers.

They are interested in what you have to share, by joining your list they have already raised their hand and said I’m interested!

Having a list multiplies your reach.

They are more likely to purchase from you, especially if you nurture your list the right way.

Email is a timely and inexpensive way to reach your audience.

email gives you an opportunity to interact and engage with your tribe.

People get to experience more of you in your emails. Your voice, your style, your personality. Readers want to connect with the person behind the writing.

Creating an email list is one more way to add value to your readers

Are you guilty of using these excuses for not getting started building your email list?

I’m waiting until I get my website perfect

I’m too overwhelmed, how can I squeeze in one more thing on my list

Email, yuck! My box is overloaded with email offers and it’s a big turn off.

I might have this set up but I’m not sure.

I don’t have the budget for this right now

I use my personal email for this – Yikes don’t do that, it’s considered spam!

Whatever your excuse may be, now is the time to get over it and get on with building your list.

It takes time and consistency to build trust and create the strong connections you want and need from your list.

Building your email list will give you the edge you need to create a business that grows to six figures and beyond. Unfortunately most business owners fail to do this until it’s too late.

And if you’ve already started building your list and your relationships, good for you! If you continue to nurture your list, they will be more likely to buy and willing to promote you and your work.

Stay Tuned for Part 2 of the List Building Series

In the next article I’m going to dive deeper into creating your IFO, (Irresistible Free Offer).

Getting your IFO right will help make the conversion to your list an easy decision.

Want to sell more services & products on auto pilot?

FREE Download: I’ll show you step by step the 7 simple changes you can make to your website that will have it making money while you are sleeping!

Give Me The Guide!

I love it when I find something that I can share with my readers that will help them!

This week I’m kicking off my first edition of Entrepreneur Mindset Tips dedicated to bringing you carefully curated content to help you have an amazing work week.

This week I’m spot lighting a couple of great guys Jeremy “Sterling” Frandsen and Jason “Jay” Van Orden. You can find them over a http://internetbusinessmastery.com. I talked about their podcast in the weekly round up where I reviewed 5 of the top podcasts on iTunes.

Podcast #207: Achieving the Perfect Work Day will help you get past the idea of having to do it all yourself, get over the idea of perfectionism and help you to get yourself into a more peaceful and happier place.

What I love about them is that they don’t just record a podcast, they go a step further each time and give you detailed show notes and often include a downloadable resource guide.

Go listen and share with us right here what you know about achieving the perfect work day!

So what are you going to do today to help you with achieving the perfect work day so you can kick back and relax when it’s all over?
