3 Tips to Help You Create Effective Blog Post Titles

Use these when you want to ramp up your blog traffic, get more subscribers and sell more of your products and programs

Tip #1:  Keep your article titles short and uncomplicated.

Remember, you only have a short time to get your reader’s attention.  A long and complicated title implies to the reader that your article is long and complicated too.  Readers want to get the information they need quickly and easily.  Your title needs to be a total of 7 to 10 words max!

Tips #2:  Write headlines that are strong and powerful.

According to copyblogger, 8 out of 10 people will read your headline copy but only 2 will actually read your content.  The job of your headline is to get readers to keep reading.  A great place to find inspiration for your headlines are magazines, newspapers and advertisements.  Next time you pick one of these up, start looking at titles that grab your attention and start noticing what they are.  Another suggestion is to look at emails you get from internet marketers that grab your attention and start a swipe file for future reference.

Tip #3:  Your Title must tell people what to expect.

Your blog post title must be short, concise and accurately reflect what your content is about.

If you fail to deliver the content you promise in your title, you will end up losing your reader’s trust.  Even if you do deliver the content you promise, you must make sure that your content is of high quality and delivers value to your audience.  In order to gain expert status and gain loyal followers, you need to continually deliver content that is relevant and of high value.

When writing your blog post title, put yourself in the shoes of your readers, what information are they searching for and what words are they using?

When you have written your title, do a search in google for it.  Did it come up before your finished typing?  If it did, you have strong evidence that others have been searching for this information too.  You are here to help your readers, give them answers to their questions or teach them something they want to learn.  The job of your title is to catch their attention and give them a reason to read your article.
