In the last Entrepreneur Mindset Post, I wrote about the lie: I can’t because I am afraid. That lie many times goes right hand in hand with the lie I talk about here…
I don’t have the time.
I know because I was afraid to film my training videos and I allowed the lie I don’t have the time to be one of the excuses for not getting them done.
I can’t tell you how many times I have told myself sub consciously that I would love to do that but I don’t have the time.
According to Steve Chandler in his book the 17 Lies That Are Holding You Back:
“It is never time people lack, it is always purpose.”
Other great influencers like Tony Robbins agree with this statement. It’s why Tony teaches that you need to figure out your WHY. Once you know your WHY, you will have the purpose that will cause you to take action.
It all comes down to taking action.
Chose one thing at a time you want to get great at and stick with it. Do it and you’ll find that’s where your growth will come from.
When I step into my office each morning, my head is filled with a million to-do’s. That really isn’t a good way to tackle things. Instead, I make my list and pick one thing and start focusing on that thing. When it’s done (and sometimes it can be a struggle to stay focused until the end) I then pick the next one and then the next one.
By focusing my energy on a single task or project at a time, I am able to bring my best self to work on it. I don’t hold anything back because I am giving it my best and feel both calm and relaxed while working. It’s like time slips away when I’m concentrating.
When I work this way I never feel like there isn’t enough time.
Question: Are you telling yourself that you don’t have the time to accomplish something you’ve been longing to do? What is it? Let me know in the comments section below.
