Give Up Your Dependency on Social Media & Television

Entrepreneur Mindset: Give Up Your Dependency on Social Media & Television

“The trouble is, you think you have time” — Jack Kornfield

If you want to get ahead then you should embrace this entrepreneur mindset: give up your dependency on social media & televisionUnless your business goals depend on either social media or television you really should consider minimizing your dependency upon them.

Instead you should be directing your time towards things that will bring you closer to your goals.

It’s all too easy for entrepreneurs to go down the rabbit hole of getting on social media during the day and wasting time that could be much better spent working on tasks that will get you to where you want to be.

I know I’ve been guilty of checking on my social media metrics multiple times a day and then falling into the trap of checking my favorite Instagram accounts to see what’s going on.

I get it, it’s fun!

And spending a whole day binge watching a television series on Netflix is fun too!

But doing either one of these doesn’t really get me where I want to be in life.

If you have goals you want to achieve, new habits you want to build…I suggest you give up your dependency on both Social Media and Television.

Instead use them as rewards for achieving your goals.

I like to limit my time on social media to the end of the day as a way to relax and I limit my television watching to the weekends as another way to relax.

Try it on for yourself…using both Social Media and Television in smaller increments and as rewards.

Replace this time with other things that will enrich your life in greater ways:

  • Read a book
  • Meditate
  • Exercise
  • Spend time with a friend or family member
  • Work on a project that you’ve been putting off

Trust me on this, you want to make the most of your time.  Small changes lead to big things in both business and in life. Go ahead and embrace this entrepreneur mindset: Give up your dependency on social media & television.
